VITOCAL 160-A

Production of hot water by natural heat

Vitocal 160-A : Heat pump for production of hot water
Vitocal 160 – A can save energy and money by providing hot water. It uses the hot air available inside the building as a heat source. It can work independently of the other heat generators.

The warm black water unit uses ambient heat.
The Vitocal 160-A is equipped with all kinds of components needed to produce hot water in an effective and unobtrusive way. All the elements are included in the upper part: The model of the heat pump (power of 1.52 kW, COP* of 2.54 and an air temperature of 15 C and a water temperature of 45 C), a large storage tank of 285 litres, an electrical heating element as well as control. The different programmes are easy to regulate by the very simple control and are equipped with a large screen. A few buttons can decide between a continuous supply of hot water or a reserve supply.

Additional advantages: cooling locations or controlled ventilation in residences
Used as an air circulation heat pump, the Vitocal 160-A uses the ambient air of the room it is in. Used as an air heat pump, it blows the warm air taken from the other rooms, e.g. the bathroom, WCs and kitchen through ducts. Part of the air extracted from the air which has been blown, then raised to a useable temperature with the aid of the heat pump to heat the hot water. The air heat pump then releases the cooled and dehumidified air into the room where the device is. This could be used to keep food fresh, for example. In the case of an air heat pump, the air is pumped out through an air duct. In combination with the air intakes that guarantee the intake of fresh external air into the rooms of the residence, the Vitacol 160-A becomes the central component of a controlled ventilation system. The Vitocal 160-A is therefore conducive to modernisation.

Reducing costs through solar energy
The two models can be consigned with a solar heat exchanger and solar regulation. By connecting to a maximum of six square metres of flat plate collectors or three square metres of vacuum tube collectors, the sun’s free energy can also produce hot water. This can still further reduce use costs.

A 230 volt electrical outlet is enough
The Vitocal 160-A is delivered pre assembled. To use the air circulation heat pump, just install it, then connect the water pipes, the condensation water discharge duct, and plug it into a 230 volt outlet. The Vitocal 160-A used as an air heat pump must also be connected to an air discharge system. A wide choice of accessories is available.

Vitocal 160-A can work independently of the other heat generators.
